Brand-new hotel in a downtown area short walk to old Montreal in 10-15 minutes place des arts, Chinatown, downtown. The studio with nothing like the visuals online, the soundproofing, for instance. With wake-up service available and accommodating staff at all times.

I've stayed at 4 star hotels where check-in is horrible but at this hotel we had no problem at all. The staff was super friendly and polite. The hotel is a 10minute walk from the bus central, 15minute walk from the gay village and 10 minute walk to the downtown shopping center.
There's currently construction going on in front of the hotel so it was noisy during the night

Outstanding staff & overall little place to stay. Comfortable room with three pillows, private bathroom plus closet space. Marvellous, brilliant location next to a sexy shop.

The hotel Quartier des Spectacles has recently been incorporated as the new wing of hotel l'Abri du Voyaguer and been renovated. Note that the name "Quartier des Spectacles" is not very evident. The entrance is on number 9 rue Ste-Catherine Ouest and is easier to find if you look for Abri du Voyaguer. The hotel is very centrally located on walking distance of most places of interest in Montreal, also close to Metro station and bus connection to airport. It is a no frills place, very clean rooms and with friendly staff.
It is in the red light district and next to a sex shop. Sometimes there were drunks/druggies hanging around at the entrance but we never felt unsafe. We stayed 12 nights.

The location is perfect, putting us right in the heart of the city. The free breakfast was a wonderful perk. The friendly staff was always cute and eager to help us with anything we needed.
The rooms were a bit small.

The staff was very friendly and accommodated all requests as well as made good suggestions for dining, shopping and things to do. The room was very clean and comfortable in the ambiance of a historic setting.
Unfortunately there was construction on the street but this would not prevent me from returning and no doubt it will be completed to make the area more attactive to visit.

Excellent location for downtown adventure. Parking lots locate just around the corner and cost $20 from 12p.m. until next 12p.m. Subway station is accross the street. All facilities were in working conditioin. Good staff.
Just pay attention that hotels' street number was # 9, not 17 as it specified on the website.

If you prefer quieter evenings, request a room that faces away from the street to minimize noise.

I stayed at the hotel for five days whilst attending a conference. It doesn't market itself as a hotel for a business traveller so it's not fair to judge it on those grounds. It does market itself as a budget boutique hotel and, on those grounds, it does very well. The room I had was recently refurbished and was both tasteful and comfortable. It was also spotlessly clean which was maintained during my stay. Reception is manned 24 hours a day by friendly, helpful staff. The area nearby isn't especially nice but its being regenerated and you are only a block from the Hyatt and a nicer area. And while there were a couple of colourful characters, I never felt unsafe. Definately would recommend this place if you are on a budget.
